Mr. C was having an issue with his floor. The front of his home was experiencing differential settlement; the floor had sunk over an inch in that area. As you can see in the photos, when one support post disengages from the rest of the floor system, it can have a major impact. The root cause of this problem was the shifting soils beneath the home. Built in 1973, the soils beneath the home had an adequate amount of time to move around and fudge things up for Mr. C.
Our solution was to install our SmartJack Adjustable Steel Post System. We removed 2 wooden floor supports due to the fact that each had become structurally weak. We replaced them with 2 SmartJacks, using their existing concrete footings. We then installed 5 more SmartJacks near existing wooden floor supports to aid them in lifting and stabilizing the floor.
This home in Salinas was experiencing sagging floors and small cracks on the interior foundation walls. The Pandemic gave the homeowners some time to focus on remodeling their homes and the place they wanted to start with was the foundation. For the interior foundation wall cracks, we injected epoxy to fill the cracks and then we sealed them with our Carbon Armor Patch for extra strength. For the sagging floors, we installed our SmartJack Adjustable Steel Post system to work together with the existing floor support system to bring it back to level.
